Brooklyn's Birthday!

Brooklyn turned 3 yesterday. We stayed at a hotel in Park City the night before, just for fun. Then we came home on Saturday for a family party. It was a great birthday!

Clapping and warming up after swimming
On the train at the zoo
Looking so cute at dinner

Her "Enchanted" cake. Or "the chanted" as Brooklyn calls it.
Ready for bed in some new pjs. It was a good day! Happy 3rd Birthday Brookie!

Camden cruising around

We could make money off him, he's so cute!

He could only have sponge baths for 2 weeks after surgery and he really got sad about not going in the bath tub so we put him in there without water to play. He thought it was great!

Love his eyes!

Watching their uncle light fire crackers for a school project. Somehow I don't think illegal activity is necessary for school.

This is Brooklyn throwing away her last pacifier or ya-ya (as she calls it) She is now paci-free!

Cooper's last soccer game of the season. He had a cute coach!

Not happy to be taking a break.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all fellow mothers and mothers-to-be! This is my 7th mother's day (if you count the one that I was barely pregnant with Cooper and didn't know yet). It's hard to believe I've been a mommy that long. It's the toughest job with the best benefits! Cooper and Brooklyn are at the age that they make me little presents and it's so sweet. Cooper keeps asking me what I want for Mother's Day and I tell him I want "obediant kids and a clean house." That is exactly what my mom always asked for! It's true though, it's all I want! He doesn't like that answer, he says it has to be something he can bring me. Oh well, it was a nice thought. I am thankful to be a mother and for the 3 reasons I am!

My own mother who I want to be like when I grow up!

My mother-in-law who is amazing!

I'm especially excited this Mother's Day for my sister Andrea who is expecting her 1st baby! Her road to motherhood has been rough and she is so deserving of the little bundle of joy she'll be holding in October!

Surgery

Camden had to have double surgery yesterday. He had ear tubes placed after having several infections that never really cleared up. He also had to have his circumcision redone. Poor little guy. He couldn't nurse after midnight and because of some delays he wasn't able to go into surgery until 9:30 am. He had a blessing and it really helped him. He didn't even complain that he didn't get to nurse and this child wakes up early and wants to nurse right away. I think handing him to the OR nurse and walking away was the hardest thing I've done. I was very worried about the anesthesia. An hour later they brought our sweet baby back and he was not happy. Because of the change in the ear pressure and the effects of anesthesia, he wouldn't nurse for a while and was so sad. But he was such a trooper and is doing so well now. He already wants to crawl around (which we have to be careful about because of the boy-part surgery) and he is smiling and happy. I feel so blessed to have the priesthood available to us because it makes such a difference. We also feel blessed to have Camden doing well.

All dressed up in his hospital gown.

Because of the extra wait, Camden needed some entertainment, so daddy made him his own balloon. He thought it was so funny!

Playing peek-a-boo with the balloon.
