Camden had to have double surgery yesterday. He had ear tubes placed after having several infections that never really cleared up. He also had to have his circumcision redone. Poor little guy. He couldn't nurse after midnight and because of some delays he wasn't able to go into surgery until 9:30 am. He had a blessing and it really helped him. He didn't even complain that he didn't get to nurse and this child wakes up early and wants to nurse right away. I think handing him to the OR nurse and walking away was the hardest thing I've done. I was very worried about the anesthesia. An hour later they brought our sweet baby back and he was not happy. Because of the change in the ear pressure and the effects of anesthesia, he wouldn't nurse for a while and was so sad. But he was such a trooper and is doing so well now. He already wants to crawl around (which we have to be careful about because of the boy-part surgery) and he is smiling and happy. I feel so blessed to have the priesthood available to us because it makes such a difference. We also feel blessed to have Camden doing well.

All dressed up in his hospital gown.

Because of the extra wait, Camden needed some entertainment, so daddy made him his own balloon. He thought it was so funny!

Playing peek-a-boo with the balloon.

Oh my poor baby. I am so glad that all went well and that he handled it so well. I was praying all day Thursday that things would be okay and that he wouldn't have to suffer too much pain. I am so relieved to hear that everyone is doing fine. What a trooper. I was getting teary-eyed when you said you had to hand him over. What a hard thing to do with such a little one. I love you all. Please take it easy and give Camden lots of kisses for me.
I am glad that he is doing well again. I know exactly what you mean about handing them over to the OR nurse....it's terrible. The preisthood is amazing, every time Aidan has had a surgery or an MRI he hasn't been able to eat and never once has he complained. I hope he continues to feel better, he is a cutie!
That's so sad:( I hate to think of little babies in surgery, but I'm very glad it will help him feel better. He looks so cute on the table with his paci. Plus, with that whole circusision redo.. he deserves a milkshake!! That's definietely the word for him... TROOPER!
I am so sorry to hear that you guys had to go through that. I was getting emotional reading the blog and then scrolled down to the pic in his hospital gown... and lost it. Thank you for your testimony of the priesthood. I am glad to hear all went well.
Poor little guy. Glad things went well. You're a tough mama! That would be so difficult to just watch your little guy be wisked away into surgery!!
